Description: Blood disorders affect one in 76 people in the United States resulting in a high burden of morbidity and mortality. The purpose of the NOFO is to improve emotional, social, and physical well-being of people living with blood disorders. The NOFO will support people with blood disorders through promotion of mental health literacy and through the adaptation and provision of evidence-based programs to build psychosocial skills, engage people in activities that promote well-being, and increase knowledge and active participation in decisions about one’s disorder and treatment. The long-term outcomes for the NOFO are to reduce morbidity due to blood disorders and to improve the quality of life of those living with a blood disorder. Applicants would apply to only one of the three blood disorder components: 1) Hemophilia and Von Willebrand Disease or 2) Venous Thromboembolism or 3) Thalassemia.
